These Terms and Conditions apply to bookings for Chef Teach Me cookery classes and to your use of chefteachme.com.

Chef Teach Me is operated by GROUP JKP FZC, a company licensed in the United Arab Emirates under licence number 3630. In these Terms, “Chef Teach Me”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to GROUP JKP FZC.

By making a booking, paying for a class or attending a Chef Teach Me class, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions. If you book for another person, you are responsible for ensuring that every participant included in the booking receives and accepts these Terms before attending.

These Terms do not exclude or limit any mandatory rights available to consumers under UAE law.

1. Booking a Class

All classes are subject to availability.

A booking is confirmed only when we have received full payment and sent a booking confirmation to the email address provided during checkout.

Please check the class date, time, location, number of participants and contact information carefully before completing your purchase. Contact us promptly if any information in your confirmation is incorrect.

You must provide accurate and complete booking information. We are not responsible for missed communications caused by an incorrect email address, telephone number or other information supplied during booking.

Prices are displayed in UAE dirhams. Any applicable taxes or additional charges will be shown before payment is completed. A digital booking confirmation or receipt will be issued following a successful purchase.

2. Booking for Other Participants

If you book places for other people, you confirm that you have their permission to provide the information required to complete the booking.

You must ensure that every participant is aware of these Terms, the Cancellation and Transfer Policy, the Allergen and Food Safety Notice and any instructions relating to the class.

The person who makes the booking remains responsible for communicating all relevant information to the other participants.

3. Class Information

Class descriptions, menus, chefs, timings and locations are correct at the time of publication. Occasionally, we may need to make a reasonable change because of ingredient availability, operational requirements, venue restrictions or circumstances outside our control.

Where a change does not materially alter the class, we may use a comparable ingredient, recipe, chef or teaching format.

If we make a material change to the date, location, advertised chef or essential content of a class, we will contact you and offer an appropriate alternative, transfer or refund.

4. Arrival and Late Admission

Please arrive at the time stated in your booking confirmation and allow enough time to check in before the class begins.

Every participant must attend the safety and hygiene briefing. If you arrive after the briefing or after practical cooking has begun, we may refuse admission where allowing you to join would disrupt the class or create a safety risk.

A late arrival or missed class does not automatically qualify for a refund or transfer.

5. Clothing and Personal Safety

Participants must wear suitable clothing for a professional kitchen. This includes closed, flat shoes, comfortable clothing and securely tied-back hair where necessary. Loose clothing and excessive jewellery should be avoided.

Cookery classes involve knives, heat, hot liquids, kitchen equipment and other normal cooking risks. You must follow the instructions given by the chef and class team at all times.

You must not use equipment or enter restricted areas without permission. Please tell a member of the team immediately if you feel unwell, are injured or do not understand a safety instruction.

We may refuse admission or ask a participant to leave if they:

  • appear to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances;

  • behave in an abusive, disruptive, discriminatory or unsafe manner;

  • refuse to follow hygiene or safety instructions;

  • place themselves, another participant, our team or the venue at risk.

No refund or transfer will be provided where removal or refused admission results from the participant’s conduct.

6. Illness

Please do not attend a class if you have symptoms of a contagious illness or have experienced vomiting or diarrhoea during the 48 hours before the class.

Our standard Cancellation and Transfer Policy will still apply. If you cannot attend, you may transfer your booking to another person or request a move to another available class in accordance with Section 8.

7. Allergens and Dietary Requirements

Chef Teach Me classes take place in shared professional kitchens where a wide range of ingredients are regularly stored and prepared.

We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or prevent cross-contact. Traces of allergens may be present in ingredients, equipment, utensils, storage areas or work surfaces.

We cannot safely accommodate food allergies or guarantee that substitute ingredients, separate equipment or an individual workstation will be free from a particular allergen.

If you have a severe or life-threatening allergy, we strongly recommend that you do not attend the class. If you choose to attend, you should not taste or consume any food. Allergens may still be present in the kitchen environment, so avoiding the food does not guarantee that exposure will not occur.

Please read our separate Allergen and Food Safety Notice before booking. Questions may be sent to connect@groupjkp.com.

8. Cancellations and Transfers

We understand that plans can change. However, our kitchen, chefs, ingredients, equipment and guest materials are arranged and paid for in advance.

More than 14 days before the class

If you cancel more than 14 calendar days before the scheduled class, you may request a refund or move your booking to another available class.

Within 14 days of the class

Bookings cancelled within 14 calendar days of the class are non-refundable.

If you cannot attend, you may:

  • transfer the booking to another person at no additional charge; or

  • request to move the booking to another available Chef Teach Me class.

All transfers are subject to availability. Any relevant price difference will be confirmed before the transfer is completed.

Transfer requests must be received before the scheduled class begins. No-shows and requests received after the class has started cannot be refunded or transferred.

If a booking is made within 14 days of the class, it is non-refundable from the time of purchase, except where a refund is required under applicable UAE law.

To request a cancellation or transfer, email connect@groupjkp.com with the booking name, booking reference and class date.

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method within the period required by applicable law and the relevant payment provider.

9. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Chef Teach Me

We may cancel or reschedule a class because of chef illness, venue unavailability, safety concerns, government requirements, insufficient operational capacity or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If we cancel a class, you may choose:

  • a full refund of the amount paid for the cancelled class; or

  • a transfer to another available Chef Teach Me class.

If we reschedule a class and you cannot attend the new date, you may request a refund or transfer.

To the extent permitted by UAE law, we are not responsible for separate travel, accommodation, childcare or other personal expenses incurred in connection with a cancelled or rescheduled class.

10. Participants Under 18

Any minimum age or family participation requirement will be stated in the relevant class description.

A person under 18 may attend only when the class is expressly advertised as suitable for their age group and any required parent, legal guardian or responsible adult is present.

The supervising adult remains responsible for the minor’s conduct and compliance with all safety instructions.

11. Food Prepared During the Class

Food prepared during a class is intended for consumption during or shortly after the session, unless our team confirms that it may be taken away.

If you take food away from the venue, you are responsible for transporting, storing, reheating and consuming it safely and in accordance with any instructions provided.

We cannot accept responsibility for food that is handled, stored, transported, reheated or consumed contrary to our instructions after it has left the class venue, except where liability cannot be excluded under UAE law.

12. Personal Property

Please keep your belongings secure. Chef Teach Me and the venue are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal property unless caused by our negligence or where liability cannot legally be excluded.

13. Photography and Filming

We may photograph or film classes for Chef Teach Me, Chef JKP and GROUP JKP marketing, editorial and social media purposes.

Where required, we will provide notice and request appropriate consent. If you do not wish to appear in photographs or recordings, please tell our team before the class begins.

Marketing consent is voluntary and is not required to attend a class. You may withdraw consent for future use by contacting connect@groupjkp.com. Withdrawal will not affect material already lawfully published or used before we received your request.

Participants may take reasonable photographs for personal use unless the chef or venue instructs otherwise. You may not record an entire class, film other participants without their permission or use class footage for commercial purposes.

14. Recipes and Intellectual Property

All recipes, teaching materials, photographs, videos, logos, brand names, class content and website content are owned by or licensed to GROUP JKP FZC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Recipes and class materials supplied to participants are for personal, non-commercial use.

Without our prior written permission, you may not:

  • reproduce or sell our class materials;

  • publish complete recipes as your own work;

  • record or distribute a complete class;

  • use Chef Teach Me, Chef JKP or GROUP JKP branding commercially;

  • use our materials to provide paid classes, training or competing services.

15. Personal Data and Marketing

We process the information needed to manage your booking, take payment, communicate class information, provide the service and comply with our legal obligations.

Further information about how we collect, use, store and protect personal information will be provided in our Privacy Policy.

Booking-related communications are part of the service you have purchased. Marketing emails and promotional messages will be sent only where we have an appropriate legal basis or your consent. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

Payment processing may be provided by an authorised third-party payment provider. The provider’s own privacy and payment terms may also apply.

16. Website Use

We take reasonable care to keep our website information accurate and available. However, temporary errors, interruptions or technical problems may occur.

You must not:

  • use the website for unlawful or fraudulent activity;

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;

  • interfere with the website’s security or operation;

  • copy or commercially exploit website content without permission;

  • submit false booking or payment information.

Our website may contain links to third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability or practices. Your use of a third-party service may be governed by that provider’s terms.

17. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UAE law. This includes any mandatory consumer right to claim compensation for damage caused by a supplier’s breach of its legal obligations.

Subject to those mandatory rights, we are responsible for foreseeable direct loss caused by our breach of these Terms or our failure to exercise reasonable care.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:

  • loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the booking was made;

  • loss caused by a participant’s failure to follow safety or food-handling instructions;

  • business, commercial or indirect loss arising from a consumer booking;

  • events or failures caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury where such liability cannot legally be excluded.

18. Complaints

If you have a concern about a booking or class, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can investigate and try to resolve the matter.

Email: connect@groupjkp.com

Please include your full name, booking reference, class date and a clear description of the issue.

You retain the right to submit a complaint to the Ministry of Economy and Tourism or the competent consumer protection authority in the relevant emirate.

19. UAE Consumer Rights

These Terms are intended to comply with applicable UAE legislation, including:

  • Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection and its Executive Regulations;

  • Federal Decree-Law No. 14 of 2023 concerning Commerce through Modern Means of Technology;

  • Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 concerning the Protection of Personal Data;

  • Federal Decree-Law No. 46 of 2021 on Electronic Transactions and Trust Services.

If any part of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory right granted under UAE law, the mandatory legal right will apply.

20. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and all bookings made through Chef Teach Me are governed by the applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates.

We encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve any disagreement directly.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be submitted to the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates, subject to any mandatory consumer protection or jurisdiction rules that apply.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to our services, business operations or legal requirements.

The Terms displayed and accepted when you make your booking will normally apply to that booking, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you.

The date of the latest version will be shown at the top of this page.
